(Venette is the granddaughter of Ethel Akert Smith Midgley and niece of Albert Neff Smith. She lives in Central City, Colorado in the Colorado Rockies with her husband and four of her six children still at home. She also works in stained glass and has worked in clay and woodcraft. An accomplished ballroom dancer, she has taught aerobics and creates and directs choreography.)
